Beretta AR X 160

Beretta’s latest AR platform is already getting notice. The easily interchangeable barrel makes the platform ideal for a host of different scenarios. With a simple push of a button, you can alter the ARX 160’s unique reversible ejection, making the rifle suitable to both right- and left-handed shooters. The ARX 160 has a lever in front of the magazine well that is similar in design to a Glock disassembly lever. To remove the barrel, lock the bolt carrier to the rear, pull down on the lever and pull the barrel free of the rifle. As heat is a concern with polymer rifles, the ARX 160 answers it with a ceramic heat shield; Beretta says that you’ll melt the rifle barrel before you damage the polymer. MSRP $2,128.

Beretta A400 Xplor Action

When Beretta first announced the A400 Unico, it came with the moniker “Green Technological Beast.” For 2012, Beretta’s follow-on is the A400 Xplor Action that features a copper-bronze-colored receiver. Weighing in at 6.75 pounds, the A400 Xplor Action will handle 2¾- and 3-inch loads. Gauging the A400 Xplor Action by previous experience, it should handle most any load, from the lightweights to heavy goose or turkey loads, without a problem. The A400 Xplor Action also has the option of Beretta’s Kick-Off recoil-reducing system, which is well worth the few extra dollars it costs. Unique to Beretta’s A400 is the Grip Pod, which makes it the first semi-automatic field shotgun to be equipped (standard) with an electronic counter that keeps track of the rounds fired, relative recoil and temperature. MSRP $1,625.

Beretta Cx4 Storm

The Beretta Storm family was launched in 2003 with the Cx4 pistol-caliber carbine. Today’s shooter demands a gun that can accept a large assortment of accessories, and the Cx4 meets the challenge. A retractable Picatinny rail extends from the fore-end for mounting tactical lights. Picatinny rails can be mounted on either side (one side rail is included) and the bottom of the fore-end for lasers or forward grips. A full-length aluminum top rail is included for mounting optics. The Cx4 Storm features a unique design allowing the user to reverse ejection and extraction with no special tools or additional parts. Combined with the reversible safety and magazine buttons, this makes the Cx4 the ideal solution for left-handed shooters. The Cx4 accepts the Beretta family of pistol magazines in various capacities, from the 20-round mags of the 92 and Px4 pistols to the 17-rounders of the .40-caliber Px4.
