The Fraternal Order of Police Foundation (FOP Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports many projects and activities. The Foundation’s principle event is the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, held each year in Washington D.C. The Memorial Service honors those officers and families who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty over the past year. Since the first recorded police death in 1792, there have been more than 19,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. In the last 10 years, 1,539 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty. An average of 1 death every 57 hours. In 2012, we lost 120 law enforcement officers in the line of duty and this memorial service recognizes the great sacrifice they made in the pursuit of public safety.
The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service is made possible through the efforts of numerous volunteers and the generous donations and our annual raffle. Raffle tickets are $20 each or you may purchase 5 for $80. To participate in the raffle you can purchase tickets online here.
